NYFW: Bleakest Picks (Part II)
(You can check out Part I here!)
Earlier this week, I pointed out some of my favorite choices from NYFW 2010 — this year was a real hit in my book, with lots of tough, utilitarian styles and plenty of properly femmed-up rock and roll to be had. Here are some more collections that I fell in love with this year!

Alexandre Herchcovitch evoked a Russian fairytale with a hint of casual grunge — seeing lumberjack plaid and layered chain alongside fur muffs makes me smile:
Dennis Basso played around with mixed textures — I love the pairing of alligator and fur, the whole thing is very Dark City — and unusual silhouettes. (Did I mention that I love things that drape?)
Michael Kors’s loose knits and structured felt drew me in, the models that looked as though they were wrapped in a wolfskin kept me around. There were some really interesting, flattering necklines present:
Ohne Titel, demonstrating the presence of fetish gear in fashion better than I’ve seen in a long time. The lines of the paneling and seaming draw the eye in an unusual way, I like!
Richard Chai’s Love shows just how far a little thought and structure can carry knit streetwear. Once again it looks like relaxed, mixed textures are ruling for fall — I’m excited!
Love it or hate it? What caught your eye during NYFW, or what were your top picks from London’s?
