All Things Horror Made My Day
Fun is telling your coworkers that you have to head out to catch a screening of “Dead Hooker in a Trunk.” ♠ Continue reading…
Metal Millionaire
Ever play that game with a pile of lookbooks and a Sharpie, circling stuff like a kid creating a fantasy Christmas list? I do, probably more often than is healthy. I call it playing Millionaire. ♠ Continue reading…
Knitted Sweater, Claws of Steel
I’ve been backing off of outfit posts lately, but SteffMetal recently posted a piece on why they’re important and it motivated me to break out the camera again. ♠ Continue reading…
Fast Fashion & The Easiest-Ever T-Shirt Surgery
My friend Grimlocke posted a few links in my comments about “fast fashion” as it relates to ethical shopping; they touched on a number of subjects, from sweat shops to creating garbage to thrifting when you’re an odd size or pressed for time. I’ve read up a little on the subject but am hard-up for new ways to improve my shopping habits – I’m pretty utilitarian with my money and I’ve been checking the “Made In…” tags on my clothing since I was in high school. ♠ Continue reading…
What I Wore…Channeling the ‘70s

NYFW: Bleakest Picks (Part I)
I love Fashion Week, but I’ve never been. (Well, I was once in NYC during it, but my accomplice and I mostly loitered outside and dealt with the fallout in the street – in no way does screaming “KAAARL!!” with a mouthful of Papaya King at the tents count as attending. It does, however, get you checked out by the local beat cops, so don’t!) That doesn’t stop me from glazing over every time Fashion Week coverage showed on TV…and there’s some real joy to be found in digging through photos of the collections while in your pajamas! ♠ Continue reading…
